Marvel has just announced that they’re working on an animated franchise and soon-to-be a full length film called Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors.
Marvel described the upcoming animation “the next generation of Marvel heroes for the next generation of Marvel fans.” The franchise is set to come out in 2018, with four six-minute shorts to introduce the characters and a full-length animated film to follow later on in 2018.
The animated franchise looks to be surrounding 7 of Marvel’s young superheroes.
Captain Marvel AKA Carol Danvers, voiced by Kim Raver.
Captain Marvel is also going to get her own live-action film in 2019, starring Brie Larson.
Patriot AKA Rayshaun Lucas, a young hero who idolizes Captain America and Falcon, voiced by Kamil McFadden.
Quake AKA Daisy Johnson, voiced by Chloe Bennet, who plays the live-action version of Quake/Agent Daisy Johnson on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Squirrel Girl AKA Doreen Green, a lighthearted hero with the power to communicate with squirrels, voiced by Milana Vayntrub.
Vayntrub has also been cast as the live-action version of Squirrel Girl in Marvel’s New Warriors, which is also planned to debut in 2018.
America Chavez, Marvel’s first LGBT Latino-American superhero, voiced by Cierra Ramirez.
Inferno AKA Dante Pertuz, a Latino with the power of pyrokinesis, voiced by Tyler Posey.
Ghost-Spider AKA Spider Gwen, voiced by Dove Cameron.
Cameron has also joined the new season Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in an unknown role.
Ms. Marvel A.K.A. Kamala Khan, Marvel’s first Muslim superhero, voiced by Kathreen Khavari.
Villain Hala, will also be voiced by Ming-Na Wen, who plays Agent Melinda May on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Exile, voiced by BooBoo Stewart. Both characters’ animation has not yet been released.
